In a heartwarming collaboration between the Rotary Club of Salt Lake Silicon Valley, Smaran, and Donateo, alongside the Institute of Engineering & Management, Kolkata, over a hundred elderly women in the Dariakata area near Purulia received much-needed assistance. They were provided with traditional towels, water bottles, umbrellas, food, and other essentials, while children received notebooks, pens, and pencils to support their education. The impact of this initiative was not just felt in the lives of those directly aided but also resonated throughout the community. On September 27th, the Rotary Club of Salt Lake Silicon Valley reached out to the Natun Pukur slum area in Newtown with a heartfelt initiative. We distributed food and clothing to men, women, and children of all ages, bringing happiness and warmth ahead of the festive Puja season. Our goal is to make a positive impact through acts of kindness.

The highly anticipated ‘Virangana’ Workshop, jointly organized by Rotary Club of Salt Lake-Silicon Valley, IEM-UEM Kolkata, Rotary Club of Calcutta Majestic, Rotary Club of Cossipore, and Manobata (Lt. Gobinda Gopal Biswas Charitable Trust), was a resounding success! Held at Santoshpur, Bagnan, Howrah, the workshop empowered over 50 women with self-defense awareness and knowledge. Dr. Samapika Das Biswas, renowned expert from Rotary District 3291, inspired participants with her insightful session. This program aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of the children at Sucheta Nagar Orphanage, Haltu. Event Details: Date: October 10, 2023 Event Time: 4:30 PM Venue: Sucheta Nagar Balika Vidyalaya, Garfa Road, Haltu, Kolkata. We had donated dry foods, chocolates, toys, books, pens, pencil boxes, coloring boxes, and new clothes for the Puja celebration to 14 orphaned children. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this noble cause, and we were grateful for the support we received in making a positive impact on the lives of these children.

Empowering school students with IoT based sensor Data: Outreach Workshop at IEM Public School: 31 Aug 2023
Rotary Club of Salt Lake Silicon Valley in association with IEEE Women in Engineering-WIE, Kolkata Section had organized Workshop on 31st August 2023 at IEM Public school Campus, salt lake. This workshop aims to introduce school students from class 5 to 10 to the world of data and its applications in combating climate change. The program includes interesting talks on data generation, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, hands-on activities, and Q&A sessions designed to help the students understand the basics of data collection and analysis through Internet of Things sensors, visualization and communication, and how to apply data to combat climate change. 102 students participated in this program.
